I’ve been debating on the title for this post. It’s between “No Reason” and “Certainty.” I think that’s because having reasons and certainty are so tightly linked. I have no reason for why I decided.
Raising the white flag to reason can take more bravery than fighting on – searching for an explanation.
In high school I got the idea to look at John Locke’s book An Essay Concerning Human Understanding. I may have read a few pages – but it’s far more likely I just looked at the book and wondered at magnitude of such writing. Perhaps it was then that I recognized the futility of my wanting to add anything meaningful to the topic.
The backdrop to these ideas is the notion that you’re a woman of great resolve. In my efforts to help I offer ideas that are unfamiliar. If there’s anything that suggests our compatibility its that we appear to survive such collisions.
There is an idea that “If you can explain it, you don’t understand it.” Such contradictions exist because some times there simply is no reason.
