An Active Mind

I had an active mind this morning in the wee hours.

Lots to think about – especially as our future unfolds. And early mornings are a good time to think things over. The house is quiet. The coffee is hot. The day has promise.

I like to keep my thoughts organized. There are things to think about for the week ahead in Lotus. Things to consider doing when I get back to Quilting Bee Cove. And suggestions on things to do in Lotus while I’m in Atlanta.

I’ve started making lists. I’m not sure what’s harder – making lists or prioritizing them. I suppose as long as something is checked off every day, it doesn’t really matter.

Many of the things I think need doing can be categorized as “preparations.” These are things that need tending to before other things can begin. That seems to sap the fun out of them. It would be much more fun to get straight to the main events. To succeed may tap my scarce reserves of discipline.

I want to find the best way to be helpful to you as you work through your own task lists. This is an area I find challenging. I want to be sensitive. But I also want to be direct. These are much easier to sort through than finding the right “assertive” level.

However it goes, I’ll try to remember my dad’s guidance: “Put love in your voice.”
