Just Knowing

Sometimes we just know.

I’m sure I’ve seen that in the movies. A scene when someone makes a declaration that isn’t supported by facts or evidence.

I’ve experienced it myself. I hope most of the time I was right. But I don’t worry about being wrong. I think it’s important to be able to be wrong – and when realizing it, make an honorable response – and move on.

Psychologists probably look at this area as their domain – their field of battle – their playground. It’s probably a good thing that there aren’t more psychologists in the world.

There are some things I’ve known about you since we first met – a half century ago. (It’s so strange to be able to say a phrase like “a half century ago” and have it not be a metaphor.) I’ve known you are resolute. I’ve known that you feel deeply about things. I’ve known you are steadfast about doing what you believe is right.

I love these things I’ve known about you.
